La Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City) | From the Heart of the World is an amazing film that takes you on an adventure through the most remote areas of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain in northern Colombia and exclusively documents the Kogi Indians. They survived Spanish Conquistadors – a feat no other tribe can claim; long thought extinct, they reappeared from their mountain home to warn the world about the excessive damage modern society is causing. This documentary explores the traditions of the Kogi and the wisdom they protect, the original wisdom of how to care for, and live in perfect harmony with creation.
Shoutout to the Ad Council and the people over at SaveTheFood.com for creating an interesting, informative video. Having worked on two organic farms, I’ve personally seen how much time, energy, and Love go into agriculture; throwing away food is somewhat like desecrating an artists work.
- 90% of people throw away food too soon.
- 20% of the food you buy will never be eaten. A family of four could waste as much as $1,500/year!
- 40% of food in America is wasted.
- 50% of seafood is wasted! How disrespectful to the oceans and wildlife. It’s not the fisherman’s fault, or the grocery store’s fault…the consumers is responsible for the waste.
